Is It Time for a Change?

Do you ever know better, but not do better? No? Okay, let me tell on myself…

So, I’ve always had faith, but I noticed I ALSO had some limiting beliefs. It was as if parts of my faith would be undercut by realism.

“But Vannesia, I thought you were fearless!”

Nah, fam. I used to talk myself out of things all the time! Or, I would rationalize situations down to the bone so faith was absent from the equation.

Four things helped me work through those limitations, and I want to share them with you:

Step 1: Being honest with myself and my mindset

Step 2: Writing down my fears and my dreams

Step 3: Examining (and uprooting) the cause of those fears

Step 4: Learning what it took to accomplish those dreams

Whether I faced re-careering, getting into my PhD program, or starting entrepreneurship, it all began with being honest about my desires. Once I identified what I wanted, I realized some things didn’t align with my desires. I believed I had to change, so I worked the steps and took action.

This is an ongoing process that helps me stay checked in with myself. I’d love for you to try it with me.

Let’s just start with step 1: examine your mindset.

Take time this week to be honest and write it down. There is no need to overcomplicate it or place limits on yourself. And if you are looking for some accountability, let a friend know. You can always reply here, and trust, I am reading and rooting for you!
