It doesn’t take as long as you think

So, last week, we examined our mindset and wrote down some things to bring about change. How did that process go?

It can be scary to look at what you want to change on paper, in black and white. But, be encouraged! This is a huge step towards your goals and here’s a little secret: change may not take as long as you think.

Bill Gates is credited for saying, “Most people overestimate what they can do in one year and underestimate what they can do in 10 years.”

A bar, right?!

In my humble opinion, I believe many people overestimate what they can do in 3 months and underestimate what they can do in 1 year.

Give yourself the time and grace to see it through

Break up with the notion that a setback is time wasted.

When you are working on your goals, you might get off track. And if you get off track, there is always something to be learned and gained. There is no need to beat yourself up, but it is healthy to be curious and understand why you dropped that ball and how you can pick it back up and be consistent.
Remember, any time you spend on yourself developing is not wasted; it is time invested. Get to know yourself and your why, and outline your process. Give yourself grace and invest your time wisely.

What do you think?
